This weekend, Hockenheim will host the last round of DTM races for 2014. It looks like BMW is going to grab all three titles again (driver & teamtitle are already safely going to Munich), and yet the most interesting announcement is coming from their VAG rivals: in the quest to find new, young touring car talent, Audi created the TT Cup which will run alongside the DTM for 6 races next year. And yes, the car does look incredibly good, especially in its R18-esque debut livery.

Power comes from a 2 liter 4-cylinder that has been bumped to 310hp, and the drivers can also have push-to-pass at their disposal which gives them an additional 30 horses on the front axle for a short time. All the other racing bits are in place, and all in all it should be reasonably fast as all that power and torque only has to move 1125 kilograms of Audi TT mass.

Prices start at 99.000€ excluding tax for one season, but in return Audi does all the bringing-to-track work and will even have driver coaches on hand and stuff, and the winner will receive a full season of racing the veritable Audi R8 GT3 with the works squads of Abt, WRT and Phoenix.
